Vancouver spirit: Climate Leadership at GLOBE 2016 will assume COP21?

The GLOBE 2016 Leadership Summit and Innovation Exposition, held every two years in Vancouver, hosts business, policy, and civil society leaders working to address pressing global challenges with business and technology solutions.

Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada will deliver a keynote speech at GLOBE Series Leadership Summit on March 2, 2016. Premier Christy Clark will deliver remarks to kick off the GLOBE Leadership Summit on the same day. Greg Selinger, Premier of Manitoba, Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario and Philippe Couillard, Premier of Quebec will participate in a candid Premiers’ Armchair Dialogue at the Globe Leadership Summit, on Thursday, March 3.

A trio of Canadian provincial environment ministers will also share insights on how their respective governments approach climate action in an on-stage armchair discussion accessible to GLOBE 2016 visitors: David Heurtel, Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Change, Government of Quebec; Mary Polak, Minister of Environment, Government of British Columbia and Glen Clark, Minister of Environment and Climate Change with the Government of Ontario. (They will participate in the session at the GLOBE Innovation Expo, Friday, March 4, 2016.)

This political happening will assume the follow-up of the Paris decisions during COP21? This is the only important thing to keep in mind here.

The GLOBE 2016 Leadership Summit and Innovation Exposition will run at the Vancouver Convention Centre from March 2 to 4, 2016.

“In recent years, provinces have been engaged in something of a ‘race to the top’ on climate action. I’m looking forward to what I expect will be a spirited dialogue, as Ministers highlight the jobs, investment and other opportunities that their work on climate is unlocking in their respective jurisdictions”, said Mike Gerbis, CEO of GLOBE 2016.

GLOBE Series is a private company headquartered in Vancouver, Canada that works to shape global, regional and industry agendas for a sustainable future.
