TMX Group will funding an independent working group, the Advancing Innovation Roundtable, which will examine ways to increase access to growth capital for companies in Canada‘s innovation economy. The Roundtable will deliver a set of actionable recommendations in early 2017 on how to successfully scale globally competitive enterprises in a variety of sectors including technology, clean technology, life sciences and advanced manufacturing.
Launching in September 2016, the Roundtable will focus on the scalability issues of Canadian technology and innovation firms caused by insufficient growth funding beyond the initial seed and start-up stages.
Members will include senior leaders from the Canadian investment community, including pension plan groups, banks, endowments, venture capital firms and private equity funds.
This Roundtable will be chaired by Salil Munjal, General Partner at Yaletown Partners, a leading private investment firm focused on financing growth-stage technology companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Munjal was President & COO of Leitch Technology Corporation, a TSX-listed company that he helped grow to over a thousand employees in six offices globally.

Before delivering its recommendations, the Advancing Innovation Roundtable will consult with industry stakeholders, investors and financial leaders who are key partners in building Canada into a competitive innovation country.
| Le Groupe TMX financera un nouveau groupe de travail indépendant, la Table ronde pour propulser l’innovation, qui examinera des avenues pour améliorer l’accès au capital de croissance pour les sociétés de l’économie de l’innovation du Canada. Cette table ronde, qui sera lancée en septembre 2016, concentrera ses efforts sur les problèmes d’évolution que connaissent les entreprises canadiennes des secteurs de la technologie et de l’innovation en raison de l’insuffisance du financement de croissance au-delà des stades de la création et du démarrage. La table ronde sera présidée par Salil Munjal, associé commandité de Yaletown Partners, une importante société de placement privé qui se concentre sur le financement des entreprises technologiques au stade de croissance. Plus tôt dans sa carrière, M. Munjal a été président et chef de l’exploitation de Leitch Technology Corporation, une société inscrite à la TSX qu’il a aidée à faire croître au-delà du seuil de mille employés dans six bureaux partout dans le monde. Avant d’annoncer ses recommandations, la Table ronde pour propulser l’innovation mènera des consultations auprès des intervenants du secteur, des investisseurs et des chefs de file financiers qui sont des partenaires clés pour faire du Canada un pays concurrentiel sur le plan de l’innovation. |
